Job Description:
As a Travel Special Education Teacher, you will provide high-quality instruction and individualized support to students with disabilities. You will collaborate with school staff, parents, and other educators to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student. Whether working in inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, or self-contained environments, your goal is to create a positive, supportive learning experience for students.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the specific needs and goals of students with disabilities.
  • Provide direct instruction and support in a range of academic, behavioral, and life skills areas.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to integrate students into the least restrictive environment.
  • Assess and monitor students' progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students can succeed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, administrators, and other service providers to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
  • Adapt teaching materials and methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Active state certification in Special Education.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special education (e.g., IDEA, IEP development).
  • Ability to travel and adapt to different school environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a passion for helping students succeed.
