Location: New Oxford, PA
Hourly Pay: $37+
Grade Level: 7th-12th Grade
Hours: 7:25 AM 2:55 PM
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract (ASAP June 2025)

About the Role:

ProCare Therapy is seeking a passionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team in supporting a Moderate to Severe Disabilities (MDS) Classroom for students in grades 7-12. In this role, you will work closely with students who require specialized attention, providing instruction that is tailored to their unique learning needs and abilities. You will help create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that promotes student growth academically, socially, and emotionally.

What Youll Do:
  • Direct Instruction: Lead a classroom of 7th-12th grade students with moderate to severe disabilities, delivering instruction that aligns with each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • Adapt Curriculum: Modify general education curriculum to meet the diverse needs of your students, ensuring lessons are accessible and engaging.
  • IEP Management: Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, working collaboratively with parents, students, and other education professionals to set and achieve realistic goals.
  • Behavioral Support: Implement behavioral management strategies to support positive social interactions and appropriate classroom behavior.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with paraprofessionals, general education teachers, and related service providers to ensure a cohesive support system for your students.
  • Assessment: Regularly assess and track student progress, adjusting strategies and interventions as needed to meet individual goals.
  • Communication: Maintain consistent communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and strategies for continued growth.
What Were Looking For:
  • Licensure: A valid Special Education Teacher License in PA is required.
  • Experience: Prior experience working in an MDS classroom or with students with moderate to severe disabilities is strongly preferred.
  • Dedication: A deep commitment to helping students achieve their personal best and creating a supportive learning environment.
  • Flexibility: Adaptable and capable of modifying instructional approaches to meet each students needs.
