Job Description

Work in a team-based environment within a manufacturing department, responsible for producing Protein Gels.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out Standard Operating Procedures involved in high throughput manufacturing, visual inspection, material handling and inventory control.
  • Operate semi-automated equipment in the production of protein analysis tools.
  • Complete all batch records and manufacturing documents according to quality systems standards as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of products and inventory records using an online materials resource planning tool.
  • Complete production schedule to plan maintaining sufficient output levels measured on an hourly basis.
  • Communicate problems to manufacturing leadership verbally or in writing and assist in identifying variables and offering resolutions.
  • Escalate equipment issues to the maintenance team through verbal and written communication.
  • Keep manufacturing leadership informed of the status of assigned production processes.
  • Train other team members on techniques and processes as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
  • Interact daily with equivalent levels of personnel in the manufacturing area.
  • Attend trainings or read content to understand and follow applicable manufacturing processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Recognize and address deviations from accepted practices in routine work situations of limited scope and complexity.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability, particularly when operating equipment running dual shifts.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. or 20 lbs. repetitively throughout the day.
  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Wear a respirator as needed.
Essential Skills
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Some experience in a manufacturing-based environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Manufacturing Experience.
  • Machine Operator Experience.
  • Experience with Good Documentation Practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices.
  • Experience with ISO and/or GMP manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft-based software such as MS Word and Excel.

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 1 PM to 9:30 PM or 2 PM to 10:30 PM. The physical demands include regular sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are required. The role involves regularly lifting up to 20 pounds and occasionally lifting weights of 45 pounds or more with assistance or equipment.
