In HACKENSACK, NJ: We are seeking a Personal Injury Paralegal to work with our client - a major Personal Injury / Worker's Compensation law practice - in Hackensack, NJ. In this role, you will be tasked with managing personal injury claims, including the intake process and settlements, from inception to conclusion. This role offers a contract/project-based with potential for a permanent position.


Responsibilities:

• Process and oversee personal injury claims, including discovery and settlements.

• Communicate effectively with clients, law offices, insurance adjusters, medical offices, and experts.

• Assist in the preparation for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.

• Prepare and file legal documents such as complaints, motions, briefs, and arbitration statements.

• Manage law office calendar and ensure all deadlines are met.

• Interview and screen prospective clients, and handle inquiries from potential new clients.

• Prepare disbursement of settlement funds and liaise with the accounting department for check requests.

• Arrange travel for attorneys and schedule court hearings, depositions, and other proceedings.

• Transcribe legal documents and prepare witnesses and clients for depositions.

• Utilize various software like Adobe Acrobat, LexisNexis, Management System, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suites for efficient execution of tasks.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLSET

• Bilingual Spanish fluency

• Proven experience as a Personal Injury Paralegal

• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat for document handling and editing

• Familiarity with LexisNexis for legal research and case law review

• Experience with Management Systems for efficient workflow organization

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites for document creation and management

• Ability to handle Billing Functions efficiently and accurately

• Strong skills in Calendar Management for scheduling and tracking appointments

• Experience in Claim Administration, particularly within the personal injury sector

• Exceptional skills in Complaint Handling, with a focus on client satisfaction

• Ability to prepare and manage Documentation in a legal setting
