Special Education Teacher - York, PA
ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher for a full-time position in York, PA, for the 2024-25 school year. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt and modify the general education curriculum to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals to create effective educational plans.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Special Education teaching certification in the state
- Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with various instructional strategies and technologies.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations regarding special education.
- Experience in creating an inclusive classroom environment.
