Position Details:

  • Location: On-site in Lawrence, MA for the 2024-2025 school year
  • Compensation: $50-60/hr

Job Description:

  • Deliver Physical Therapy Services:

    • Provide Services: Offer comprehensive physical therapy services to students, focusing on enhancing their physical abilities and overcoming limitations. Develop engaging and effective therapy sessions to meet each student's unique needs.

  • Assess and Evaluate:

    • Conduct Assessments: Perform thorough assessments to evaluate students' physical capabilities and identify areas needing improvement. Use standardized tests and observational methods to gather accurate data.

  • Design Treatment Plans:

    • Create Plans: Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to each student's individual needs and goals. Monitor progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure the effectiveness of interventions.

  • Collaborate:

    • Work with Staff: Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to integrate therapy objectives into educational plans. Foster a team approach to support holistic student development.

  • Utilize Therapeutic Techniques:

    • Employ Techniques: Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques to enhance students' mobility, strength, balance, and coordination. Incorporate play-based and activity-based interventions to engage students meaningfully.

  • Monitor Progress:

    • Track Progress: Keep detailed records of student progress, therapy sessions, and any changes to treatment plans. Ensure documentation meets all professional and regulatory standards.

  • Educate and Train:

    • Educate Staff and Parents: Train school staff and parents on strategies to support students' physical development and foster independence. Share practical techniques to reinforce therapy outcomes.

  • Participate in Team Meetings:

    • Engage in Meetings: Join multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress and coordinate care. Contribute to discussions on comprehensive support plans for students.

  • Stay Updated:

    • Keep Abreast: Stay informed about the latest advancements in pediatric physical therapy. Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance professional skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Education: Masters degree in Physical Therapy
  • Experience: Previous experience in school or pediatric settings
  • Licensing: PT license for Massachusetts
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and colleagues

Compensation & Benefits:
