Position: Full-Time Paraprofessional PK-K Strides Program (for students with Autism)
Start Date: Immediate

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our school district team. This is a full-time position working in the PK-K Strides Program designed for students with Autism. The Educational Assistant will play a vital role in supporting students' learning and personal growth by working closely with the Special Education Teacher to implement individual and small-group learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students in learning activities developed by the Special Education Teacher.
  • Work with students individually or in small groups within the Strides Program as well as in general education classrooms where instruction is occurring.
  • Provide support and encouragement for students to help them develop academic and social skills.
  • Collaborate with the Special Education Teacher and other school staff to create a positive, supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in student assessments and monitor progress as needed.
  • Position includes a 6-week summer component to continue providing support during summer school sessions.
Qualifications:
  • Must have prior experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is strongly preferred.
  • ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience and compassion for children with diverse needs.
  • High school diploma required; Associate's degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
