Job Description
The Assembler will be tasked with the mechanical assembly and finishing of in-process units. The primary responsibilities include constructing the unit frames using tools to attach rectangular metal pieces together and performing box finishing by wrapping the completed units in cardboard for shipment. This role requires dexterity to wrap units around and above one's head.
Responsibilities- Perform simple mechanical assembly and finishing of in-process units.
- Construct unit frames by attaching rectangular metal pieces using appropriate tools.
- Move completed units to the boxing area using wheels.
- Wrap completed units in cardboard and secure them with staples for shipment.
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
- Previous experience in a job that required standing for at least 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week.
- Ability to repetitively lift 30-40 lb parts up to 50+ times per day.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Ownership of steel toed or composite toed protective shoes.
- Ability to work safely and produce high-quality work based on standards.
- Experience in assembly within a production environment.
The facility is temperature controlled, providing a comfortable work environment. There are opportunities for advancement to higher-paying roles such as Assembler II. The company offers paid holidays, additional floating holidays, 120 hours of vacation, and 40 hours of sick time per year, all available from day one but accrued over time. Work EnvironmentThe facility is a standard fabrication and assembly operation divided into two areas: fabrication and assembly. The fabrication area features a massive laser cutting machine, deburring and brazing stations, and basic hand tool workstations. The assembly area is organized but somewhat cramped as units take up space and move on carts. The facility is temperature controlled, though employees may feel warm due to required arm sleeves. The first shift runs from 6 am to 4:30 pm with mandatory overtime on Fridays. The second shift operates from 4:30 pm to 3 am with mandatory overtime on Fridays. PPE and dress code include steel toes, safety glasses, protective cut sleeves, cut gloves, cotton/canvas/denim pants (no sweats, spandex, or nylon), and no hoods worn over the head.
