Virtual Special Education Teacher
Location: South Dakota (Remote)
Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Contract Opportunity
Pay: $32/Hour
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Design and Delivery:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Create and deliver engaging, interactive, and differentiated lessons using virtual teaching tools and resources.
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
Student Support:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in small group and one-on-one settings.
- Use a variety of instructional techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Address behavioral, social, and emotional needs of students through positive reinforcement and appropriate interventions.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and other support staff to ensure that students' needs are met.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and discuss any concerns or needs.
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and other required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid South Dakota teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience in virtual or online teaching is preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Proficiency with technology and virtual teaching platforms.
