Job Title: Paraprofessional - ASL

Location: Tualatin, OR

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ASL Paraprofessional to join our team in Tualatin, OR. This role involves working closely with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, providing support to ensure their academic and social success within the school environment.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
  • Facilitate munication between students, teachers, and peers using ASL.
  • Support students in developing their social and academic skills.
  • Monitor and document student progress and behavior.
  • Assist with the preparation of instructional materials.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Certifications:

  • Proficiency certification in American Sign Language (ASL) is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred but not required.
