Behavior Technician Opportunity Mount Vernon, WA

Position Details:
- Position Type: Behavior Technician / CBT / RBT
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: June 16, 2025
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM 3:00 PM
- Caseload: Secondary level students with autism spectrum disorders and low cognitive abilities.
- Openings: 1-2
Responsibilities:
- Provide support under the direction of a district BCBA or behavior specialist.
- Assist with implementing Individual Educational Plans (IEP) and Functional Behavioral Analyses (FBA).
- Support Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP) by assisting with interventions and data collection.
- Monitor and manage student behavior to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
- Administer first aid and physical support, including feeding, toileting, lifting, and positioning as necessary.
- Help students use adaptive equipment and assistive technology as required.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet students' educational and behavioral needs.
- Perform clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and preparation of classroom materials.
Qualifications:
- Required: Completion of a 40-hour Behavior Technician course OR credentialed through the Washington State Health Department as an RBT (RBT certification is preferred but not required).
- Preferred: Experience in schools or with extreme behaviors (e.g., aggression, self-injury, minimally verbal students).
- Strong understanding of working with students on the autism spectrum and with diverse needs.
