Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Journeyman Mechanic with experience in aircraft standard mechanical operations for a long-term, contract-to-hire position in Reno, NV. This role requires maintaining a fleet of vehicles and ensuring their safe and reliable operation.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Fleet Manager to maintain a fleet of vehicles.
• Assist in developing and maintaining a top-notch maintenance program focusing on the continued safe and reliable operation of the fleet.
• Perform all necessary repairs, checks, and preventative maintenance, including major overhauls.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
• Educate operators about the various functions of the vehicles.
• Repair to applicable standards all interior non-medical equipment such as gurneys, fasteners, lifts, and emergency warning devices.
• Be courteous and helpful to employees and represent the organization professionally.
• Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of experience as a professional mechanic.
• ASE A4/A5 certification.
• Valid NV or CA Driver License.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to operate common shop hand and power tools.
• Self-starter with the ability to multitask.
• Ability to read and make practical applications of shop manuals and manufacturer bulletins.
• Ability to operate simple computer programs and modern vehicular diagnostic equipment.
• Forklift certification.
• OSHA 10 certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• EPA 609 Certification within 30 days of hire.
• ASE A1, A2, A3, A6, A7, and A8 certifications within 18 months of hire.

Work Environment

This position is based in a mechanic/auto shop environment, working four 10-hour day shifts from Sunday through Wednesday. The role requires the use of common shop hand and power tools, as well as modern vehicular diagnostic equipment.
