Position: Sr. Data Extract/Conversion Analyst (2)
Duration: 6-12 Month Contract to Hire
Start Date: 2 Weeks
Interview Process: (1) Teams IV
Location: 100% Remote

**Data Conversion experts who have worked with extracting data from Lawson, SAP or Ultipro. The candidates need to have an understanding of HR data (Core HR and Payroll, Compensation, etc.) and have Azure SQL writing skills. Oracle HCM support is definitely a plus, so they understand how data extracted flows/converts into Oracle.
MUST HAVE:

  1. Experience in SQL, Azure SQL Writing Skills
  2. Understanding of HRIS systems such as Lawson, Ultipro, SAP and been part of Oracle HCM implementations
  3. Understanding of HR data (Core HR and Payroll, Compensation, etc.)
  4. Communication needs to be 100%
  5. Detail Oriented w. Documentation, and be able to articulate very quickly/precise

PLUS:
Oracle HCM support is definitely a plus, so they understand how data extracted flows/converts into Oracle.
Interview Prep:

  1. This is a high level project with a tight timeline.  If they don’t think something is possible to complete on time, explain why not.
  2. If they do not know an answer to a question, it is ok to say no.
  3. Strong Communication and direct answers are what they are looking for
  4. Looking for someone that is curious, discover root cause of issues and address.  How does this affect the business overall?

Qual Questions:

  1. What was the most challenging issue you encountered loading data into Oracle?
  2. Steps you have used when encountering issues with extracting data from Oracle?
  3. Talk about a time that you were on a project, where your primarily focus was getting the info into Oracle?
  4. Can you validate a file prior to trying to load it? Manual diagnostic, if need be?  Does it pass the sniff test?
  5. What systems have you converted data from into Oracle? 
  6. What ETL tools are you familiar with?
  7. Which Systems specially have you converted into HCM?

 

Qualifications:
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in HR data conversion or data migration projects, with at least 2+ years of experience specifically with Oracle HCM Fusion.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in data transformation tools and ETL processes. Strong knowledge of SQL, Excel, and data migration software. Familiarity with programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python) is a plus. Experience with ETL tools like Alteryx, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, etc. and processes
• Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met with quality deliverables.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for data accuracy and integrity.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences and vice versa.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related field.
Advanced certifications in Oracle HCM Fusion or data management are highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with cloud-based HCM platforms such as Oracle HCM Fusion, Lawson, Ultipro and SAP.
• Experience in data migration for large-scale HR system implementations.
• Knowledge of HR processes and regulations impacting data migration efforts, such as GDPR or other data privacy laws.

Position Summary:

The HR Data Conversion Senior Analyst is responsible for leading complex HR data migration projects, ensuring accurate conversion of data from legacy systems to modern Human Capital Management (HCM) platforms, specifically Oracle HCM Fusion. This role involves data analysis, mapping, cleansing, transformation, and validation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless data transitions. The Senior Analyst ensures that all data conversion efforts align with project timelines, business requirements, and best practices, mitigating any risks associated with data accuracy or integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Data Conversion Projects: Manage all phases of the HR data migration process from legacy systems to Oracle HCM Fusion, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
• Data Mapping and Cleansing: Develop data mapping strategies and work closely with business teams to ensure accurate alignment of old system data with Oracle HCM Fusion. Perform extensive data cleansing to eliminate errors or redundancies.
• Data Transformation and Validation: Utilize tools to transform legacy HR data to meet Oracle HCM Fusion requirements, ensuring consistency and data integrity. Perform pre- and post-load data validations to confirm successful conversions.
• Testing and Troubleshooting: Participate in testing cycles, including unit, system, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to identify issues early and resolve them swiftly.
• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work with HR, IT, and external vendors to gather business requirements, provide insights, and ensure data migration meets organizational needs.
• Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation, including data mapping templates, conversion scripts, and error logs. Generate regular status reports for management and key stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to the data migration process, tools, or methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
