Job Summary:The QC Logistics Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring quality expectations are met throughout the operational process. This position involves managing sample logistics, maintaining lab support functions, and adhering to safety protocols while interacting with multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities:Your Role:
  • Safely perform operations, ensuring quality expectations are consistently met.
  • Assist with sample logistics functions, including material movements in SAP, bulk sampling, analytical weigh-ups, and shipping materials to outside labs.
  • Weigh chemicals with precision according to the specific assay requirements and product quantities.
  • Contribute to lab support functions, such as equipment maintenance, restocking supplies, waste disposal, and material deliveries.
  • Independently assess the hazards of materials prior to use to determine appropriate handling procedures and required PPE.
  • Complete the necessary volume of work to achieve departmental goals and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate the status of operations and report any deviations to the supervisor.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records in line with quality guidelines.
  • Ensure all applicable logbooks are filled out completely as required by current procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in initiatives under the supervision of your manager.
  • Report and take action to resolve any unsafe conditions.
  • Adhere to process requirements in a continuously changing environment.
  • Utilize lean and Six Sigma practices to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Maintain equipment (cleaning, calibration, etc.) following established protocols.
  • Keep the work area clean and audit-ready at all times.
  • Stay current on all training requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Life or Physical Sciences; or
  2. Associate’s Degree in Life or Physical Sciences/similar technical degree with 2+ years of SAP or laboratory experience; or
  3. High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of SAP or laboratory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with SAP.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to independently review safety data sheets and determine appropriate handling precautions and PPE.
  • Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Motivated to perform both individually and as part of a team.
  • Approach tasks with initiative and independence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Attributes:
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 80 lbs.
  • Routine use of various classes of chemicals and all required PPE.
