1st Shift Blaster

A Shift Blaster will be responsible for blasting water tanks that are being built to be assembled on the chassis. This involves using steel grit blasting, not sand blasting. The blast hose is 1.5 inches wide and operates at 120lbs of pressure. Candidates must be comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights, including climbing ladders to complete work on the top and inside of tanks. Fall protection training, a harness, and tie-off equipment will be provided. Candidates must also complete a respirator fit test within the first two weeks of employment and wear a respirator when working in confined spaces.
Responsibilities- Blast water tanks being built for assembly on the chassis using steel grit blasting.
- Operate a blast hose that is 1.5 inches wide and comes out at 120lbs of pressure.
- Work in confined spaces and at heights, including climbing ladders.
- Complete work on the top and inside of tanks.
- Undergo fall protection training and use provided harness and tie-off equipment.
- Complete a respirator fit test within the first two weeks of employment.
- Wear a respirator when working in confined spaces.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to operate a blast hose with steel grit blasting.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments.
- Mechanically inclined.
- Ability to complete a respirator fit test and wear a respirator.
- Previous blasting experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience in industrial painting, auto body work, or general labor in heavy manufacturing is beneficial.
- Experience with paint prep, assembly, and using a paint sprayer or working in a paint booth.

Work EnvironmentCandidates must be able to work in all conditions, as it may be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The work involves heavy manufacturing and industrial environments.
