We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team in the Construction industry. This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to oversee our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our company's financial and accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Balance Sheet, Variance Analysis, Budgeting, Forecasting, Job Costing, Billing, and Cash Flow.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Controller, you will play a critical role in driving and supporting our financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing and managing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Preserving assets by implementing and maintaining internal controls, managing risks and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
3. Managing and tracking the performance of invested assets in alignment with company's policies and investment strategy.
4. Overseeing the production of periodic financial reports; ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
5. Coordinating the preparation of the corporate annual report, the annual budget, and forecasts.
6. Calculating variances from the budget and reporting significant issues to management.
7. Providing financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
8. Monitoring debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
9. Ensuring timely and accurate billing, payroll, and accounts receivable management.
10. Conducting job costing, inventory accounting, and preparing aging reports.
11. Implementing and maintaining Sage Intacct software for optimal operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of the HVAC and plumbing industry is a significant plus.
4. Proven experience with financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, balance sheets, and variance analysis.
5. Proficiency in using financial software and advanced MS Excel skills. Experience with Sage Intacct is highly desirable.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with both financial and non-financial employees.
7. Excellent analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
8. High attention to detail and accuracy, even under pressure.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
10. Professional certification such as CMA, CPA, or similar is a plus.
