We are now looking for a motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in the Redding, CA area, offering support to students in enhancing their motor skills, sensory integration, and participation in classroom activities.

Position Overview:
The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for promoting students' ability to successfully engage in school tasks. You will collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to craft individualized therapy plans designed to maximize student achievement, both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Evaluations: Perform comprehensive assessments of students' fine motor skills and sensory processing abilities, determining their readiness for school activities.
  • Create Individualized Programs: Develop and implement customized therapy plans that align with each students educational goals.
  • Deliver Therapy Services: Provide direct interventions aimed at improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, and enhancing functional independence in school settings.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with teachers, special education professionals, and parents to integrate occupational therapy strategies into students daily routines. Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for therapy goals.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed records of therapy sessions, student progress, and evaluation results. Ensure documentation complies with district guidelines and state regulations.
  • Professional Growth: Stay updated on developments in occupational therapy and education by participating in professional development and continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Valid Occupational Therapist license in California.
  • Certification: NBCOT certification preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Experience working in schools or with children is a plus.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with the ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong problem-solving capabilities.
