Job Details



We are seeking an Associate General Counsel to join the legal team to manage and coordinate the legal affairs of the company and its subsidiaries around the world; review and negotiate contracts, address employment issues and review foreign employment/contractor agreements, handle advertising issues from a legal perspective, and respond to a wide variety of requests for legal assistance from various company departments and staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Seeks to maximize the company’s revenue while minimizing the legal and business risk associated with that revenue.
  • Initial emphasis will be handling foreign employment/contractor agreements, employment issues, advertising issues around the world including drafting and negotiating various brand ambassador agreements or waivers, and overseeing/handling company legal records and filings.
  • Eventual expansion to handling or assisting with drafting, reviewing and negotiating various company contracts including but not limited to supply and distribution agreements; recruiter agreements, non-disclosure agreements; overseeing trademark issues and litigation; icensing and compliance issues; company insurance and related issues; coordinating responses to discovery requests concerning any pending litigation or other judicial or administrative proceedings; and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Research, anticipate and guard company against legal risks.
  • Guide managers and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Handle and maintain corporate records and resolutions.
  • Coordinates with and oversees the work of outside counsel.
  • Oversees compliance with applicable statutes and regulations, reviews pertinent laws and regulations, and provides legal advice to all company departments and staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution and be licensed to practice law in the state.
  • 8 years minimum experience
  • Experience in advertising law, brand ambassador marketing contracts, employment law, trademark law and liquor licensing preferred, but not required
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
