We are seeking a dedicated and passionate occupational therapist to join our team as a School Based Occupational Therapist. This is a full-time position with 37.5 hours per week for the full 23/24 school year.

As a School Based Occupational Therapist, you will work with K-12th students who have various disabilities or impairments that may impact their ability to participate in daily activities at school. You will use your expertise in movement, sensory processing, cognition, social skills, and adaptive equipment to develop individualized therapy plans aimed at helping each student reach their goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the motor, cognitive, sensory, and perceptual components of students functional abilities
  • Develop personalized intervention plans based on evaluation results and collaborate with other professionals to ensure alignment with instructional programs and classroom needs
  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to identified students across multiple school settings (e.g., classroom, gym, playground, cafeteria)
  • Regularly monitor and document student progress towards goals
  • Participate in meetings with parents, teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to discuss concerns, solutions, and recommendations related to student performance and interventions

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • State license/certification in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience working with pediatric population, preferably in a school-based setting
  • Familiarity with IDEA regulations and special education process
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage caseload independently while adhering to professional ethics and standards
