Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with educators to implement lesson plans and engaging teaching activities.
  • Provide tailored support to students in one-on-one or small group settings to ensure they grasp key concepts.
  • Assist in fostering a positive classroom atmosphere through effective management strategies.
  • Help prepare educational materials and create a vibrant classroom environment.
  • Support students with special needs by adhering to their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as directed.
  • Supervise students during lunchtime, recess, and field trips to ensure safety and engagement.
  • Work alongside teachers, administrators, and parents to track and enhance student performance.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student progress and behavioral patterns.
  • May involve additional responsibilities such as toileting assistance, bus supervision, lifting, behavioral support, and classroom redirection.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associates or bachelors degree in education or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with children, particularly in educational settings, is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with educational practices and effective classroom management techniques.
  • CPI training is preferred but not required.
  • MUST BE WILLING TO HELP STUDENT WITH TOILETING AND FEEDING
