Caseload: High School Student

Position Overview: Are you a skilled Sign Language Interpreter with a passion for facilitating clear and effective munication? As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in bridging munication gaps for our students, enabling them to access services, information, and opportunities more seamlessly.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and effective interpretation between ASL and English in various settings.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the ethical standards of the interpreting profession.
  • Adapt to diverse environments and be responsive to the needs of individuals with varying munication styles.
  • Collaborate with students, staff, and other interpreters to ensure smooth munication and understanding.
  • Continuously improve skills through professional development and training opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation
  • Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in diverse settings (e.g., educational, medical, or professional environments).
  • Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the ability to engage respectfully with the Deaf and hard-of-hearing munity.
  • Excellent munication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in both ASL and English, with the ability to convey nuances accurately.
