Job Description
Soliant is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter with a passion for facilitating clear and effective communication between ASL and English in various settings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate interpretation services for students, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the ethical standards of the interpreting profession.
- Adapt to diverse environments and be responsive to the needs of individuals with varying communication styles.
- Collaborate with students, staff, and other interpreters to ensure smooth communication and understanding.
- Continuously improve skills through professional development and training opportunities.
Requirements:
- Certification in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation.
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in diverse settings.
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and the ability to engage respectfully with the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in both ASL and English, with the ability to convey nuances accurately.
