Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator responsible for operating various machines, including but not limited to band saws and handheld grinders. The candidate will be setting up and operating machines, reading prints, cutting material to specified dimensions, and assisting with other machinery as needed. The role involves working with different gauges of sheet metal and performing inspections of machined parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Responsibilities
  • Operate various machines including band saws and handheld grinders
  • Set up and operate machines
  • Read blueprints and cut materials according to specified dimensions
  • Assist with other machinery as needed
  • Work with different gauges of sheet metal to meet customer demands
  • Perform inspection of machined parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Write reports and communicate issues with the production and management team
Essential Skills
  • Experience in machine operation
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing and metals
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Strong writing, reading, and communication skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • No high school diploma or GED required

Work Environment

This is a first shift position from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with initial training for 2-3 weeks from 7:00/8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The work involves operating various machines in a manufacturing setting, adhering to safety and quality standards.
