JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Company Facilities Engineering, Health / Safety/ Environmental Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic performs wide range of duties related to facility and production equipment maintenance, capital expenditure projects, environmental compliance and plant safety. Uses sound judgment in decisions that influence facility maintenance, protection of capital assets, facility liability and fire and accident prevention. The Maintenance Mechanic will respond and react to production problems in a timely and efficient manner while performing maintenance projects and PM tasks.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

· Performs repair work to ensure timely completion of work orders and / or assigned tasks.

· Primary function / duties include;

· Performs preventative maintenance inspections and repairs of all equipment.

· Competently performs electrical, mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting.

· Follows and adheres to Lock – Out / Tag – Out procedures at all times.

· Is expected to be flexible in keeping the plant operating while working on maintenance projects and performing PM tasks. Shall multitask.

· Maintains clean work areas during and at the end of the shift.

· Performs Preventive Maintenance on equipment scheduled.

· Works under minimum supervision.

· Performs safe work practices at all times

· Performs all other tasks as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

· Principles and practices of facility maintenance; press operation; pressure vessel operation; methods and means of corrective and preventative maintenance to ensure compliance with all regulatory authorities and company policy.

· Have the basic working knowledge of two major disciplines (i.e. plumbing and pipefitting, carpentry, painting service or machinery, electrical repair and maintenance of equipment, hydraulic system repairs of equipment, boiler tending and custodial.

· Communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing; demonstrating knowledge and ability in electrical, mechanical, structural and all other general vocational skills; welding, pipe fitting, equipment rebuilding, tool fabrication, boiler maintenance, HVAC and other facility utilities; working long and irregular hours, including Saturdays and Holidays, when necessary; ability to work under pressure conditions; achieving results through personal and performance and subordinates; and maintaining productive order in an environment of changing priorities.

· General knowledge of safety procedures and ability to follow safe working practices.

· Must be able to work under minimum supervision.

· Maintain housekeeping of personal work area, work department areas, and overall Company surroundings to company standards of safety and professionalism.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

· High School Diploma with subsequent course work in general vocational skills and / or physical sciences, or equivalent experience; and

· Minimum five (5) years’ experience performing facility maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment similar to company

· Compression molding, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical trouble-shooting experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to work safely throughout our manufacturing facilities.

· Lift/move up to 40 lbs. without assistance; or greater than 40 lbs. with assistance from another person or with appropriate lift/move apparatus.

· Sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull as needed for duration of work shift.

· Able to work effectively under pressure of deadlines.

· Able to work full time, at least 8 hours a day and 5 days a week.

· Good vision required (with or without corrective lenses).

Scheduled: Monday through Friday

1st shift: 6:00am-2:30pm
