Front End Medical Assistant

Job Description
We are seeking a front end medical assistant who is comfortable working in a fast-paced oncology center. The successful candidate will be responsible for checking patients in, answering phones, scheduling patients, and recording patient information. We value strong customer service skills and cultural fit. Preference will be given to candidates who are newer to the healthcare industry, allowing us to provide molding and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities- Check patients in and out
- Answer phones and direct calls appropriately
- Schedule patient appointments
- Record and maintain patient information
- Assist with patient care and phlebotomy
- Handle front desk duties including reception and customer service
- Measure and record manual blood pressure
- Enter data and maintain electronic medical records (EMR)
- Authorize insurance and handle medical records
- Enhance guest experience by providing excellent customer service
- 1 year experience in customer service
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to multitask
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficiency with EMR systems
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in data entry and insurance authorization
- Experience in patient care and phlebotomy
- Ability to manage manual blood pressure measurements
- Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus but not required
This role is based in an outpatient cancer facility operating Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. The organization values compassion and making a difference in patients' lives.
