Job Description

This position is responsible for a balanced mix of paperwork/computer tasks and operating tasks, with a focus on maintaining the inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse, ensuring all items are packed and labeled safely, and managing merchandise with appropriate care.

Responsibilities

• Keeping an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse.
• Identifying any missing, lost, or damaged materials and immediately notifying the supervisor.
• Ensuring that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.
• Managing all merchandise with appropriate care.
• Assisting with the training of newly employed workers.
• Scanning labels to ensure products are shipped to the right destination.
• Handling inbound and outbound shipments.
• Operating sit-down, electric forklifts (FLO).
• Using ERP Systems, Outlook, and Excel for inventory management.

Essential Skills

• Experience with forklift operations.
• Knowledge of inventory management.
• Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes.
• Ability to pack and label merchandise properly.
• Material handling skills.
• Experience with RF scanners.
• Proficiency in ERP Systems, Outlook, and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stay stationary for 50% of the workday and perform tasks requiring kneeling or squatting.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Comfortable working in environments that may contain dirt and dust.

Work Environment

The warehouse is small, very organized, and non-climate controlled but comfortable. The dress code is casual, with pants and hoodies in the winter and shorts and short sleeves in the summer.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50
