Job Description

This role involves a balanced mix of paperwork and computer tasks, alongside operating equipment. The primary focus is on managing the inventory and ensuring the safe and accurate shipment of merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Keeping an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse.
• Identifying any missing, lost, or damaged materials and immediately notifying the supervisor.
• Ensuring that all merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.
• Managing all merchandise with appropriate care.
• Assisting with the training of newly employed workers.
• Scanning labels to ensure products are shipped to the correct destination.

Essential Skills

• Experience with ERP Systems, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to operate a sit-down electric forklift (FLO).
• Competence in stock management, labeling, and pick & pack operations.
• Experience with inbound and outbound shipments.
• Proficiency in order picking, receiving, and loading.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the workday, with the ability to ascend/descend stairs and kneel or squat for the remainder.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Comfortable working in environments that may contain dirt and dust.
• Shift: M-F 8am-4:30pm
• Pay: $18/hr

Work Environment

The warehouse is small, very organized, and non-climate controlled, but comfortable. The dress code is casual, with pants and hoodies in winter, and shorts and short sleeves in summer.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50
