We are offering a part-time, contract to hire employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in the steel manufacturing industry, located in Harvey, Illinois. This role involves the maintenance and analysis of financial records, and is ideal for those with a keen eye for detail and an affinity for numbers.


Responsibilities:


• Conducting month-end reconciliations and general ledger (GL) management

• Preparing and presenting financial reports for review

• Analyzing financial data and providing insights based on findings

• Utilizing software such as Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for data entry and bookkeeping tasks

• Ensuring accuracy in account reconciliation and bank reconciliations

• Overseeing the month-end close process efficiently and accurately

• Leveraging experience in bookkeeping to enhance financial processes and systems

• Collaborating closely with other team members to ensure all financial operations are running smoothly.

• Must have a minimum of three years experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably within the steel manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Demonstrable experience with account reconciliation and bank reconciliations.
• Strong data entry skills with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Capable of managing and executing month-end close activities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must possess a strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred but not required.
