As a Facilities Maintenance / Operating Engineer, you’ll be the driving force behind the reliable operation of critical building systems in the heart of New Orleans. This is your chance to work on cutting-edge facilities, tackle hands-on challenges, and ensure seamless operations in a role that values your expertise and leadership.

What You’ll DoHands-On Maintenance:
  • Keep mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems running at peak performance.

  • Perform inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on HVAC, lighting, and critical systems.

  • Respond quickly to emergencies, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum safety.

Lead and Collaborate:
  • Oversee contractors and ensure all work meets high standards of efficiency and safety.

  • Support your team with general maintenance tasks and troubleshooting as needed.

  • Provide detailed logs and reports to the Chief Engineer, ensuring all operations run smoothly.

Safety and Excellence:
  • Identify and resolve safety hazards, creating a secure environment for everyone.

  • Participate in training programs and compliance processes to stay at the top of your game.

  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace that reflects your commitment to quality.

What Makes You Stand OutYour Qualifications:
  • License: City of New Orleans 1st Class Stationary Engineer’s Certificate (Air Conditioning).

  • Experience: 5+ years in building maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical work.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Your Skills:
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with proficiency in using hand and power tools.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work independently or as part of a team.

  • Exceptional communication skills and proficiency with Windows-based software.

Pay Details: 27.91 per hour
