Job Title: Project Accountant – Transportation Industry
Location: Ashland, VA
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000

LHH is partnering with a leading transportation company to find a skilled Project Accountant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a financial professional with experience in subcontractor management, cost savings, and financial analysis, particularly in the construction or HVAC sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project budgets and perform financial analysis to drive cost-saving strategies.

  • Monitor and analyze subcontractor agreements and payments to ensure compliance and profitability.

  • Collaborate with project managers to prepare and review project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes with a focus on project-related accounting.

  • Provide regular reports on financial performance to senior management.

  • Assist in implementing process improvements to streamline financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably within the construction, HVAC, or transportation industries.

  • Proficiency with Spectrum Viewpoint is a significant advantage.

  • Strong background in subcontractor management, cost-saving initiatives, and financial analysis.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
