Accounting Manager (Salary: $115,000 - $140,000 + Bonus)

LHH Recruitment – Hybrid in Austin, TX

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a leading commercial real estate investment company located in Austin, TX. This position plays a key role within the Accounting and Finance department, managing the accounting team and overseeing all real estate operations accounting functions. The role involves providing financial reporting and analysis, risk management, and driving process improvements across the department.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred), with at least 10 years of accounting experience and a minimum of two years in a management role. The candidate must have hands-on experience with Yardi for financial reporting, knowledge of commercial leases, and proficiency in NNN year-end reconciliations. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of seven accounting professionals handling the financial management and reporting for a large portfolio of commercial properties totaling approximately 15 million square feet.

  • Manage accounting processes for a few properties personally to maintain proficiency in Yardi and address any operational challenges.

  • Forecast cash flows for the property portfolio and assist Asset and Facilities Managers with tenant relations.

  • Collaborate across departments to develop and enforce accounting systems, policies, and procedures that promote efficiency.

  • Lead the accounting team in adopting best practices and standard operating procedures for real estate accounting.

  • Work closely with the CFO and Director of Finance to align accounting services with business objectives.

  • Provide comprehensive reporting support to the Operations Team, including rent rolls, accounts receivable reports, and financial variances.

Client Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred.

  • A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, with at least two years in a management role within the commercial real estate space.

  • Extensive experience with Yardi software for managing commercial real estate finances and operations.

  • Familiarity with commercial leases and experience performing NNN year-end reconciliations.
