Ultra Manufacturing, a leader in precision machining based in Rochester, New York, is looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our growing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC lathes to produce high-quality, precision components that meet engineering specifications and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities:- CNC Lathe Operation: Operate CNC lathe machines to produce precision parts based on blueprints, drawings, and detailed specifications.
- Programming & Setup: Program, set up, and adjust CNC lathe equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- First Piece Inspection: Conduct thorough first-piece inspections to verify part quality and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Tight Tolerances: Work efficiently with tight tolerances to meet high standards of precision.
- Program Editing: Edit and update programs as necessary to adjust for quality and production needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Maintain efficient and smooth operation of CNC lathe machines, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
- CNC Expertise: Proficient in operating CNC lathe machines, with experience in programming, setup, and adjustments.
- Blueprint Proficiency: Solid understanding of blueprints, drawings, and engineering specifications to ensure accurate machining.
- MasterCam Knowledge: Experience with MasterCam 24 software for programming CNC machines.
- Precision Focus: Ability to work with tight tolerances, ensuring the highest quality and accuracy in machining.
- Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to make adjustments as needed for quality control.
- Previous experience as a machinist is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and edit CNC programs to ensure optimal machine performance.

You’ll be working in a well-lit, organized machine shop environment with a 1st shift schedule. The working hours are:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM to 4:15 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Position Type: Contract-to-Hire

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00
