Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist for 1st and 2nd shifts to machine details from plate or flat stock according to blueprints. The role involves working with various materials such as steel, copper, and nickel. Our company produces hot runners for the plastic injection industry.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Read and use measuring tools.
  • Sharpen cutting tools.
  • Perform own set-ups.
  • Download programs and alter if necessary.
  • Machine material to print specifications.
  • Use overhead crane for material handling.
  • Set up, operate, and edit programs on CNC machines.
Essential Skills
  • 3 years of experience with 3-axis lathe operations.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints.
  • Ability to read digital micrometers and calipers.
  • Experience with editing Haas and Fanuc controls.
  • Familiarity with G&M code editing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Programming experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The shop is clean and was built in 2019. The facility includes multiple cafes and a workout room. The 2nd shift runs from 7 pm to 3:30 am with a 10% shift premium. Expect to work 48 hours per week with occasional 6-hour shifts on Saturdays from 2 pm to 8 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00
