Job Description:
West Rutland School is looking for a dedicated Behavioral Classroom Paraprofessional to work with two 6th-grade students who have more advanced behavioral challenges than typical public school students. The students are transitioning from the Wellness Center and access their education via a virtual platform, within a structured classroom environment. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in behavioral support and trauma-informed care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-the-moment support for students within a virtual learning environment.
• Manage and implement behavioral interventions, helping to reduce disruptions and keep students engaged.
• Take accurate data on student behavior and educational progress to inform instruction and interventions.
• Collaborate with the teaching staff to create and improve classroom programming.
• Maintain flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic and evolving school environment.
• Respond quickly to changing student needs and adjust support strategies accordingly.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience with behavioral challenges, especially in students who have trauma histories.
• Data collection and tracking experience.
• Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with staff and families.
• Willingness to adapt to changing student and school needs.
