Behavioral Support Specialist

West Rutland School is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Classroom Paraprofessional to work with two 6th-grade students who have advanced behavioral challenges.

This role requires experience in behavioral support and trauma-informed care, providing in-the-moment support within a virtual learning environment. The successful candidate will manage and implement behavioral interventions, collecting accurate data on student behavior and educational progress.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with teaching staff to create and improve classroom programming, maintaining flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment. They will respond quickly to changing student needs and adjust support strategies accordingly.

Preferred qualifications include proven experience with behavioral challenges, especially in students with trauma histories. Data collection and tracking experience is also desirable. The ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with staff and families is essential.
