Our Hudson, OH client is seeking a motivated Part-time Accountant to assist with our financial operations. Your primary responsibility will be to handle fundamental accounting tasks such as month and year-end account verification, accounts payable and receivable, GL coding verification, issuing checks and reconciling monthly statements. In addition, you will be expected to assist with closing end-of-day sales, posting member payment for daily deposits as well as answering member questions regarding their accounts. Other duties include maintaining an orderly accounting filing system, preparing monthly state sales tax returns, and quarterly use tax returns, undertaking collections and sorting and filing mail daily.
The ideal candidate will be expected to understand and execute accounting principles and practices, handle deadlines, exhibit excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication skills; be able to critically analyze problems, manage task execution, and possess a strong work ethic. You should also be a good team player, self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Training will be provided to familiarize you with our software called Jonas. This role may require you to perform other duties as assigned.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management
• Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Knowledge of accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated understanding of financial regulations and standards.
