Quality Control Technician

Job Description
The Quality Control Technician will be an integral part of the team, responsible for sample generation, preparation, and data analysis, as well as supporting production processes. This role involves working on both the general and Algae teams, depending on demand, and requires a solid understanding of chemistry to perform tests and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during experiments.
Responsibilities- Generate and prepare samples for analysis.
- Conduct tests using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Agitate batches, test at different levels, and prepare them for shipment.
- Operate reactors and agitators to add and remove key enzymes.
- Use High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) instruments.
- Conduct test results for raw materials according to specifications and SOPs.
- Investigate and interpret experimental data to determine if they meet specifications or expected outcomes.
- Proficiency in chemistry and understanding of SOPs.
- Knowledge of lab safety and quality control procedures.
- Experience with analytical balances, agitators, and reactors.
- Ability to conduct and interpret tests using HPLC instruments.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
- Experience in manufacturing environments such as chemical plants, refineries, wastewater treatment plants, or pharmaceutical plants.
- Understanding of chemical reactor fundamentals and hazards.
- Knowledge of process technology including temperature, pressure, and flow rate.
The technician will work in a clean manufacturing center processing tons of krill and algae, with separate rooms on the manufacturing floor. The lab environment includes agitators and advanced scientific analysis tools. Training will be provided for about 3-4 weeks, Wednesday-Friday and every other Saturday from 6am-6pm. Post-training shifts will be Sunday-Tuesday and every other Saturday from 6am-6pm. The technician must be comfortable working in an environment with a fish smell and have a proven mechanical aptitude.
