TRC is seeking an experienced Product Engineer to support our client's robotics product line for a hybrid position based out of Cumming, GA

 

Position Objective:
The Automation Controls Product Engineer (PE) will collaborate with a Product Manager to manage and grow the robotics product line in an entrepreneurial environment. As the technical expert, you will oversee the product lifecycle, including development, market introduction, and ongoing support. The PE will lead technical evaluations, testing, and troubleshooting, while working cross-functionally with internal and external teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead product selection, development, and integration to grow the product line and meet customer needs
  • Manage product lifecycle from introduction to market support
  • Evaluate and test new products and technologies
  • Support product through documentation, training, and second-tier backline support (during normal business hours)
  • Conduct life-cycle projects to enhance product quality or reduce costs
  • Evaluate suppliers, including product offerings, technology roadmaps, and support capabilities
  • Some self-directed domestic and international travel as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or 10+ years of relevant experience
  • 6+ years (10+ preferred) experience in the industrial automation market or OEM/manufacturing using robots
  • Hands-on experience in product application, control system integration, calibration, configuration, technical support, or product design involving robots
  • Familiarity with various robotic technologies (end effectors, vision systems, SCARA, cobots, delta robots, or cartesian robots)
  • Knowledge of industrial control products such as PLCs, HMIs, and process instrumentation
  • Experience with agency approvals (UL, CSA, CE, RoHS) is preferred
  • CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is desirable
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently manage projects and meet deadlines
