Virtual School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Washington (Remote)
Job Type: Fulltime, Work From Home Contract
Pay: $45+/Hour
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech and language abilities through virtual platforms.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) based on assessment results, in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students via virtual sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices and innovative techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the curriculum and classroom activities.
- Monitor and track students' progress toward their speech and language goals, adjusting intervention strategies as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on students' progress and collaborate on strategies for supporting speech and language development at home.
- Participate in virtual meetings, professional development activities, and team collaboration sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant paperwork in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Washington state license in Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility for licensure.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Experience working as an SLP in a school setting, preferably in a virtual or teletherapy capacity.
- Proficiency in using virtual platforms and technology for teletherapy sessions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other members of the educational team.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices related to speech and language services in schools.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a remote work environment.
- Commitment to cultural competence and providing equitable services to students from diverse backgrounds.
