We are offering a long-term contract opportunity for a Financial Analyst in Sacramento, California. As a Financial Analyst, you will be instrumental in performing various financial functions, budget analyses, and maintaining accurate records. Your role will involve constant interaction with customers and vendors and will require you to apply your detail-oriented competency to solve complex financial problems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget Support: Assist in operational budget reviews, analyze departmental budget requests, and prepare related reports.
  • Financial Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of financial reports for internal and external use.
  • Expenditure Monitoring: Track budget expenditures, identify trends, and provide written recommendations to management.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with customers, vendors, and internal departments regarding business cycle transactions.
  • Variance Analysis: Collaborate with department managers to analyze financial data, address variances, and resolve related issues.
  • Report Coordination: Prepare and distribute financial reports and analyses for management review.
  • Transaction Processing: Handle financial transactions for assigned departments or business cycles and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Problem Resolution: Assist in resolving issues related to financial transactions.


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficient in analyzing complex problems and proposing effective solutions.
  • Skilled in evaluating information, drawing conclusions, and making sound recommendations.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Clear communication skills to explain complex financial concepts to non-finance users.
  • Effective in both verbal and written communication, including presenting data and summarizing results.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to lead when needed.
  • Knowledgeable in budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant computer systems, software, and local/state/federal regulations.
