Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Welder to perform Flux Core Welding on Mild Steel for barge construction. The ideal candidate will be proficient in MIG and TIG welding, capable of reading blueprints, and ready to work collaboratively under supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Flux Core Welding on Mild Steel to fabricate barges.
  • Utilize MIG and TIG welding techniques as needed.
  • Accurately read and interpret blueprints for welding projects.
  • Collaborate with team members and work under a supervisor's guidance.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in Flux Core Welding.
  • Experience with MIG and TIG welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Previous welding experience of 3-6 months.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Tack welding.
  • Fitting and fabrication skills.
  • Knowledge of welding on Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, and Structural Steel.
  • Experience with Stick welding.

Work Environment

This role is in an outdoor environment, which can be very hot. The position requires wearing steel-toe ankle-high leather boots, long sleeves, and pants for safety. Smoke from welding prohibits wearing contact lenses. We offer two shifts: 1st shift (Mon-Fri 6am-3:30pm) and 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 3:15pm-12:45am).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashland City, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.30 - $21.30
