About the job Welder Welder IIAbout the Role:The KA Group is a global leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of earthmoving scrapers and accessories for the construction, mining, and agricultural industries. The Company is composed of three brands, namely K-TEC, Ashland, and Metalcraft, with the brands products being differentiated by size, target markets, and the technologies offered. KA Group maintains manufacturing and warehouse facilities in Manitoba and Wisconsin.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesWelding: Perform MIG welding on steel structural tubing and complex assemblies, adhering to AWS D1.1 and D1.2 standards to build various structural components, assemblies, and scrapers.Complex Fabrication: Demonstrate the ability to layout and weld complicated steel assemblies. Manage heat build-up, distortion, and stack-up, and maintain squareness. Part Fabrication: Fabricate parts to meet specific end-use design requirements, ensuring functionality and accuracy.Installation: Install rough and finished components into mobile platforms accurately and efficiently.Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret architectural blueprints and technical drawings.Measurement: Take precise measurements and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper fit and alignment of components. Tool Proficiency: Operate common power and pneumatic tools effectively, including drills, skill saws, jig saws, routers, grinders, sanders, and torque wrenches.Quality and Efficiency: Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrate high-quality workmanship and efficiency with attention to detail, particularly when working with finish surfaces and materials.Compliance: Adhere to all workmanship standards, safety policies, housekeeping requirements, and ISO standards.Additional duties as assigned to support the goals of the team and organization.REQUIREMENTSMechanical aptitude and basic problem-solving skills for understanding of root cause analysis.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to completing tasks.Capacity to maintain focus and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.Basic computer skills for job costing and input of other data crucial to tracking KPIs.Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.Effectively and safely operate a variety of assigned tools and equipment.
