Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team near Livonia, MI. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality speech and language services to students, collaborate with educators and parents, and contribute to creating a supportive educational environment. This role involves working directly with students from diverse backgrounds and varying needs, including those with speech, language, and munication disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct prehensive evaluations to diagnose speech and language disorders. Assess students' speech, language, and munication abilities, and determine appropriate intervention strategies.

  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students with identified speech and language needs. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to set and achieve educational goals.

  • Therapeutic Services: Provide direct speech and language therapy to students, including individual and group sessions. Tailor therapy plans to address each student's unique needs and track progress regularly.

  • Consultation and Collaboration: Work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to support students' munication needs in various educational settings. Offer strategies and support to help students improve their participation and performance in the classroom.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, treatment plans, and evaluations. Prepare reports for parents, teachers, and school administrators as needed.

  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and educational strategies. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certification: Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in Michigan. Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a school setting is highly desirable. Experience with a range of speech and language disorders, including articulation, fluency, and language development.
  • Skills: Strong munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to pass background checks and meet any other state or school district requirements.
