Structural Engineer Qualifications:

  • Physical capability to conduct field reviews
  • Civil Engineering Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in master planning, site planning, subdivision design, and construction documentation
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Effective time management, communication, and leadership abilities
  • Knowledge of road design, NPDES regulations, and erosion control
  • NPDES “Qualified Personnel” Level II certification or willingness to obtain
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and adapting to changes
  • Skilled in graphic presentation, layout, grading plans, and hydrologic studies
  • Strong problem-solving, detail-oriented, and mathematical skills
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Civil Engineer in Georgia

Structural Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate design interpretation, on-site investigations, and maintain technical databases
  • Support project phases including programming, design, documentation, cost estimating, and observation
  • Obtain permits and approvals, build relationships with permitting authorities, and manage zoning amendments
  • Develop and uphold technical standards; manage time and resources effectively
  • Ensure compliance with specifications, monitor production, and suggest efficiency improvements
  • Conduct site observations and recommend design adjustments
  • Review site plans for compliance and assess environmental impacts
  • Maintain documentation, correspondence, and detailed drawings
  • Ensure technical quality and provide professional certification for in-house documents
  • Collaborate with associations and archaeologists for resource protection; collect field data using GPS
  • Develop preliminary grading and site development documents; coordinate field staking with surveyors
