Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Processing Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating machinery to ensure the efficient production of high-quality food products. You will also be responsible for maintaining logs, performing quality checks, and ensuring that all processes adhere to established safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Physically load raw materials (spices, sugars, seasonings, etc.) into machines.
• Keep logs (both paper and electronic) of materials fed into the machine.
• Operate machines to ensure products are processed for the correct run time.
• Perform quality checks on products as they come out of the machines and are fed into containers.
• Mix finished products and maintain the highest quality.
• Prepare products to established formulas while monitoring production needs.
• Perform deck set-up for daily schedule and operate equipment to aid in processing formulas.
• Use local control panel to control additions of all metered and manually added/weighed ingredients to mix and transfer batches.

Essential Skills

• Experience in food manufacturing or food processing.
• Proficiency in operating processing machines.
• Knowledge of GMP and HACCP standards.
• Strong quality control skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and standard operating procedures.
• Basic math skills necessary to verify quantities of ingredients.

Work Environment

You will be working in a busy food processing company with a team-oriented atmosphere. The environment can be wet at times due to the sanitation/CIP team spraying down machines. The machines are constantly processing, so hearing protection must be worn, though the noise level is generally a dull hum.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
