Special Education Teacher

ProCare Therapy is working with a local school district to hire a qualified Special Education Teacher. The teacher must have an active teaching certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Those employed for the available positions will serve as a contract worker. All pay, benefits, human resources claims, etc. will be overseen by the ProCare Therapy support staff.

Caseload Details:
School district is looking to fill two openings for a special education teacher.

Position 1: Elementary School Placement
Position 2: Middle School Placement

Job Responsibilities:
More information on job details/specifics will be provided during the interview process.

  • Teacher will demonstrate a working knowledge of the pedagogy of education.
  • Teacher will create lessons that are engaging and meet state standards to ensure that all students are able to access the curriculum.
  • Teacher will provide differentiated instruction to students to ensure they are able to access the curriculum based on strengths and needs outlined in the students Individualized Education Plan.
  • Teacher will foster an environment that supports the students social emotional health. Dependable expectations, positive behavioral interventions and supports, and consistency.
  • Teacher will monitor and report progress toward current IEP goals and work with service providers to identify areas to focus on moving forward.
  • Teacher will maintain positive relationships with parents, administrators, grade level and content area teams, as well as service providers in order to create a collaborative setting where the students growth is in everyone's best interest.

  • Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate.
  • Experience in schools is preferred but not required if other requirements are met.

Interview Specifics:
Applicants should be prepared to interview in December to start working in January.

  • Applicants will go through an informal prescreening process with recruiters at ProCare Therapy to ensure qualifications are met.
  • Applicants will be interviewed by the school or districtdepartment lead. The interview is typically a 30 minute Zoom call.
  • The school/district may request a second interview where the applicant comes to campus.
  • In junction with the school/district, ProCare Therapy will offer qualified candidates the position and begin the onboarding process.
