Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Property Accountant. The ideal Property Accountant will have experience in accounting and property management, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and property-specific systems. What you get to do every day:

  • Maintain property financials and general ledger account reconciliations, through the application of US GAAP and appropriate accounting control procedures
  • Prepare accrual or cash-based journal entries as needed
  • Recording cash receipts including collections from residents, and reconciling bank accounts
  • Performing month-end close and recording of month-end accruals including, but not limited to, prepaid expenses, other assets, accrued liabilities, other liabilities
  • Reconcile and analyze all balance sheet accounts on the trial balance with supporting schedules that identify the components of the balance

The ideal Property Accountant candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. CPA preferred.


Other requirements for the Property Accountant position include and are not limited to:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in accounting within real estate, construction, property management
  • Experience with Entrata and Fixed Assests CS preferred
  • Good verbal and written communications
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel)
