Responsibilities Include:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the science of reading and use research-based interventions to address students' delays in the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
- Provide specially designed instruction to students with identified disability-related needs.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and techniques for teaching reading.
- Teach and understand a variety of reading strategies tailored to students' individual needs.
- Use informal and formal assessments to plan and deliver instruction.
- Design and implement literacy instruction that motivates students to increase both their skill and desire to read.
- Administer and interpret a variety of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments.
- Work collaboratively with general education and special education staff to address the unique needs of students.
- Cultivate a culture of learning by providing students with opportunities for success and perseverance through focused literacy instruction.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin 316 Reading Teacherlicensure (non-negotiable)
