Aerotek is looking for machine operator's for a great manufacturer located in Huger, SC. Great entry level opportunity for someone to grow in their career. Starting pay is $20-$22/hr with OT available each week. Looking for candidates with good job tenure and at least 1 yr experience operating heavy machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Job Description
  • Make and inspect arbor and overarm set-ups to ensure compliance with production instructions.
  • Reconcile coil identity to production and load coil.
  • Thread coil through slitter head, cropping non-complying material.
  • Thread mults into recoiler.
  • Maintain production and quality standards by measuring and verifying before, during, and after processing.
  • Check and record gauge width, hardness, camber, burr, and surface condition.
  • Set gauge monitoring system (if applicable) and ensure gauge calibration.
  • Adjust machine setup to correct defects as needed throughout slitting (if applicable).
  • Communicate non-compliance production to supervisor and/or shift lead.
  • Band/secure and identify slit mults.
  • Complete production documentation. Assist maintenance to troubleshoot malfunctions or complete preventative maintenance as necessary.
  • Remove scrap from machine and empty hopper as well as maintain slitter and surrounding area.

Hard Skills
  • 1 year of machine operating experience
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Experience setting up and running machines
Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 4 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Huger, South Carolina.

Work Environment

Non-climate controlled, but very well-kept, organized, and clean facility. Monday-Thursday, but should expect to work 8-10 hours on Friday for overtime. 1 opening – 1st shift 4:30am to 3:30pm. 2 openings – 2nd shift 3:00pm to 1:30am. Could train on days, could train on their shift, need to be open to either.
