We are offering a contract to hire position as a Materials Control Supervisor in North Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for managing incoming materials, ensuring accurate inventory records, and overseeing material shipments.


Responsibilities:


• Manage the receipt of incoming materials, verifying their compliance with the purchase order and bill of lading specifications

• Ensure that all materials are appropriately assigned to specific warehouse shelf locations

• Be responsible for affixing RFMS ID tags to materials, denoting the material job number, warehouse location, and general material description

• Proactively review Schedule Pro to plan for future material shipments

• Handle the printing of Pick Tickets for jobs to be shipped the following day

• Ensure timely and accurate processing and delivery of Pick and delivery Tickets RFMS post materials shipment from the warehouse

• Verify the materials prepared for shipment by warehouse staff to ensure Pick Ticket specifications are met precisely

• Communicate effectively with the Purchasing Manager for material requirements for inventory stock or specific jobs

• Facilitate the return of damaged or double shipped goods, promptly informing the Purchasing Manager of any discrepancies

• Implement regular inventory cycle counts and aid in the execution of annual warehouse physical inventory audits

• Maintain excellent working relationships with staff in Charleston and Charlotte Offices, seeking assistance when needed to address unknown requirements of the job and issues that arise

• Strive to maximize the organization's efficiency, success, and profitability.

• Proficient in budget processes, with proven ability to forecast and manage departmental budgets.
• Demonstrated experience in buying processes, including sourcing, negotiating, and delivery tracking.
• Capability to handle invoices, ensuring accurate documentation and timely payment.
• Extensive knowledge in purchasing activities, including procurement, order placing, and supplier relationships.
• Experience in managing a purchasing department, leading a team, and ensuring efficient operations.
• Familiarity with all aspects of purchasing functions, from market research to contract negotiation.
• Expertise in purchasing management, with a focus on cost reduction and supplier performance improvement.
• Experience in purchasing materials, including raw materials, supplies, and machinery.
• Strong skills in purchasing planning, with the ability to forecast demand and plan accordingly.
• Knowledge of purchasing procurement processes and techniques, with a focus on achieving cost efficiency and timely delivery.
• Experience in procurement actions, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
• Familiarity with procurement activities, from sourcing to delivery tracking.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and strategies.
• Knowledge of procurement functions, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
• Understanding of the Bill of Materials (BOM) and its application in the manufacturing process.
• Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and its role in production scheduling and inventory control.
• Familiarity with MRP ERP system, including its implementation and usage for inventory management.
• Experience with MRP inventory strategies and techniques, including demand forecasting and safety stock calculation.
• Proficiency in processing and managing purchase orders, from creation to delivery tracking.
